Expertise
Wano is an environmental analyst and external engagement coordinator at Borneo Futures, and a member of the senior management team. Wano worked across several projects related to conservation and sustainability, with a focus on geospatial science.
With expertise in geosciences and advanced data analytics, Wano conducts research, GIS analyses, and field studies. His interests include soil and peat studies, supporting projects in environmental sustainability. He is currently taking the lead on Borneo Futures’ pilot program, KehatiKu, where we are working to monetize and incentivize community-based biodiversity monitoring and protection.

His core responsbilities include leading the Biodiversity and Environmental Unit, managing the day-to-day implementation of the KehatiKu citizen science program in Kapuas Hulu, and coordinating citizen science programs, including participant engagement and data management.
He also oversees biodiversity data collection, monitoring, and verification, prepares reports, scientific publications, and other knowledge products, and engages with external partners, communities, and stakeholders
