Expertise
Andi Erman has over 25 years of experience working across Indonesia and Malaysia on biodiversity conservation, primate ecology, social-economic research, and commodity development. His expertise spans species conservation, habitat monitoring, participatory mapping, and sustainable community engagement. He has held roles with international NGOs such as Flora & Fauna International and worked for 12 years as a local facilitator for ForClime GiZ REDD+ in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan.
Currently, Andi works as a contractor field coordinator for Borneo Futures Brunei Darussalam, implementing KehatiKu in nine villages in Kapuas Hulu. He has extensive experience coordinating multi-stakeholder projects, facilitating workshops at district and village levels, and guiding community-based program implementation while ensuring Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) from local communities.
Andi’s depth of knowledge in primate biology, landscape-level biodiversity assessments, and community-based natural resource management makes him a key member of KehatiKu. His practical understanding of both ecological and socio-economic contexts allows him to design effective engagement strategies, oversee field operations, and provide technical guidance for sustainable conservation and development initiatives.
