Sara Fared completed a two-week internship in August 2026 with the geospatial team, focusing on Kehatiku-related work. Her primary responsibilities were weekly spatial checks of observations, preparing fire alert reports, and assisting in the preparation of maps, such as clustering maps for the biodiversity team. She also assisted with digitisation work in the latter part of her internship and assisted the geospatial leads with grountruthing for Borneo Futures follow-up analysis into the 2026 flood and landslide event in Sumatra.
Sara is currently in her second year of study to attain a Bachelor of Science in Geography, at the University of Leicester. She is also a member of the Brunei-Leicester society and volunteers for two organisations, where she helps with geographical analysis. Furthermore, she has dedicated time to job simulation in data analysis and forensic technology, with Deloitte Australia.
